I was tasked with installing a second cabinet bath freezer dryer into the production area of a pet food factory in Norfolk. The freeze dryer needed to be installed onto the first floor of the factory. Our client already has an existing freeze dryer in the factory that is being used to dry raw meat chunks and pellets utilising a monorail rack system to feed it.
The cabinet itself weighed 16 tonnes and required a specialist scaffold platform to be in place for it to be crane lifted up and skated into position. I had to ensure that all existing services had the capacity to facilitate to the new system and the extension to the new freeze dryer. This all had to be in line with PUWER regulations.
I am very proud to say that not only was the project completed smoothly with minimal disruption to the business, but it was also completed a month ahead of the original timeline. The client has asked us to assist with next freeze drying cabinet installation.
